WANT TO LEARN 3D ANIMATION

After my experience on the MA Character Animation course at UAL, I mainly focused on 2D animation. I chose 2D because drawing feels more natural to me. I thought it was better to start with something I already understood and use it to learn the basic principles of animation.

I wanted to build a strong base first. I focused on important things like timing, spacing, weight, movement, acting, and character performance. These skills are important in both 2D and 3D animation, so I wanted to understand them well before moving to 3D.

In the future, I would like to study 3D animation more seriously. I am interested in online courses such as Animation Mentor or similar courses. Some professionals who came to give lectures at our university also suggested this path. They explained that these courses can be useful for people who want to improve their character animation skills.

I have always been interested in both 2D and 3D animation, but I never had the right time to learn both properly. For this reason, I decided to start with 2D, because it felt closer to me, and then move slowly to 3D, which feels more new and difficult.

During my first year, I also tried 3D animation, but I was not happy with the results. I realised that the problem was not only the software. I also needed to improve my animation foundations. This helped me understand that I had to work more on movement, body mechanics, and performance before focusing too much on the technical side.

In the future, I would like to find a job in this field, especially in character animation for films, TV series, or games. I want to keep learning, improve my skills, and work with other artists in a professional environment. My goal is to become a better character animator and feel confident in both 2D and 3D animation.
